Apple has long maintained a reputation for steadfastly adhering to its design and technology philosophies. However, the company has introduced a new MacBook Pro featuring a touchscreen, a departure from its historical stance on laptop ergonomics.
New Display and Design Features
The standout feature of the updated laptop is the “PROLED XDR” display. Beyond the screen technology, the device incorporates a hole-punch cutout for the webcam and sees the return of the illuminated Apple logo on the lid. These additions represent a significant shift in the MacBook lineup’s design language.
While the display quality is notable, the device comes with a substantial price increase. According to the review, the OLED model costs nearly $1,000 more than a MacBook Pro with similar specifications from the previous year.
Product Lineup Adjustments
With the launch of this OLED model, Apple now provides two distinct versions of its flagship premium laptop. The standard Mini-LED version has been updated with the M6 processor, which offers enhanced graphics performance and improved battery life. Despite these internal upgrades, the standard model retains the same overall design as its predecessors.
