Apple has refreshed its Apple Creator Studio software suite alongside the release of the new M6 iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro models. The update introduces built-in MotionVFX tools, cross-app integrations, and artificial intelligence features across the entire application lineup.
Final Cut Pro and MotionVFX Integration
Following Apple’s acquisition earlier this year, MotionVFX tools are now integrated directly into Final Cut Pro. Apple stated that this integration gives editors rapid access to extensive professional video effects and content. The platform now includes graphics, themes, titles, and transitions, alongside specialized rotoscoping and color grading tools. Furthermore, a built-in Content Hub provides curated stock videos, photos, and backgrounds for video projects.
The update also brings long-requested workflow improvements to Final Cut Pro. Editors can now disconnect clips from the primary timeline and position them freely. Additionally, creators can take any image directly from a project timeline and open it in Pixelmator Pro for adjustments. Any modifications made in Pixelmator Pro apply automatically to the original project without requiring reimporting.
Artificial Intelligence Across Applications
Artificial intelligence tools have been incorporated into multiple applications within the suite. Both Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro now feature text-to-image generation and editing capabilities. In Pixelmator Pro, users can draw a circle over a specific image area and enter a text prompt to apply desired edits.
In Logic Pro, Apple partnered with OpenAI to introduce a new assistant capable of editing existing projects, starting new songs, and generating vocal tracks from text prompts. This same chatbot is available in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers to handle app-specific tasks such as animating presentation slides or organizing data.
Additional Features and System Requirements
The software suite also includes smaller enhancements, such as additional keyframe easing options in Final Cut Pro and the Stem Splitter tool in Logic Pro, which allows users to isolate or replace drum parts.
Utilizing the new beta assistant in Logic Pro for Mac requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible Mac operating on macOS 27 Golden Gate or later. Accessing the chatbot in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers necessitates an iPhone, iPad, or Mac running the latest software version with built-in AI tools. Certain Final Cut Pro features require Apple silicon, and Macs running the Creator Studio version of Final Cut Pro must use macOS 26.6 or newer.
Current subscribers will receive the updates for free in November. Apple Creator Studio is priced at $13 per month or $129 annually, with a one-month free trial available for new subscribers, while new Mac or select iPad purchases include a three-month free trial. Individual applications—Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro—remain available for separate purchase at $300, $200, and $50 respectively.
