Death Stranding Anime Teaser Trailer Debuts Ahead of Disney+

Kojima Productions has released the first teaser trailer for an upcoming anime adaptation titled Death Stranding Isolations, which is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ next year. The project brings a fittingly strange tagline of “My mom became a crater” to the franchise’s universe.

Inside the Death Stranding Isolations Teaser

The brief preview features familiar motifs from the video game, including a courier carrying cargo strapped onto their back. Most of the clip centers on a young girl waking up terrified from nightmares involving BTs, the hostile, gloopy entities that prey on living creatures. Releasing this initial look right before Halloween matches the eerie atmosphere of the story.

Although the trailer does not reveal extensive plot details, the YouTube description provides an official synopsis for the original narrative. Death Stranding Isolations unfolds immediately after game protagonist Sam Porter Bridges succeeds in reconnecting North America through the Chiral Network. The main character has severed all connections with the outside world in favor of complete solitude, but fate intervenes through chance encounters that thrust her into an unfamiliar world.

Characters and Creative Team

Additional characters appearing in the series comprise a wise old man who connects individuals using an inexplicable method, a female soldier trapped in a continuous cycle of war and destruction, and a boy filled with rage regarding his absurd life. Hideo Kojima, who serves as co-writer, designer, and director for both Death Stranding video games, acts as an executive producer for the anime. The series is directed by Takayuki Sano.

This television project is part of a broader expansion of the intellectual property. Another animated project named Death Stranding Mosquito is currently in development alongside a live-action film partnership with A24.
