Donald Trump spent nearly 20 minutes speaking without making any substantial reference to the upcoming midterm elections that will determine the composition of Congress for the remainder of his term.
Focus on Washington DC Projects
Instead of addressing the imminent vote, the president used the opportunity to discuss various construction and makeover initiatives throughout Washington DC, including updates to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
“It’s really a beautiful thing. It’s a work of art in many ways, but it was a work of art that never worked, but now it will work,” Trump said, according to reporting by World News | The Guardian, while also joking that the pool should be renamed after him.
