A football fan was transported to the hospital following an incident where several Bodo/Glimt supporters fell through a hole in the away stand during an away match against Tromso.
Match Interrupted by Stand Incident
The Norwegian top-flight fixture at Romssa Arena on Sunday came to a temporary halt right before the half-time interval. Bodo goalkeeper Nikita Haikin alerted the referee to the situation in the stands.
Simen Pedersen, the press officer for Bodo/Glimt, stated to the Reuters news agency that up to five individuals fell through the flooring of the stands.
Describing the moment of the collapse, Bodo supporter Andrine Moen told local newspaper Verdens Gang that fans were jumping and bouncing to a supporter chant when the structure failed. The floor cracked in two rows ahead, and while at least two people dropped through, the exact number and depth of the fall remained unclear initially.
Resumption of Play and Final Score
Following the incident, stadium staff relocated the remaining Bodo supporters to different sections of the venue to ensure their safety before the game restarted.
The fixture took place at Tromso’s stadium, known as the northernmost venue in the Eliteserien, amidst heavy rainfall. When the match paused, the score stood at 0-0.
Once play resumed, Bodo forward Ola Brynhildsen secured two goals to lead the league leaders to a 2-0 victory. Bodo continues a close title race with Viking as the Eliteserien season approaches its conclusion in the first week of December.
