www.catwittersettlement.com – California Twitter Privacy Lawsuit

CA Twitter Settlement

  • California residents who used Twitter before Nov. 18, 2009, could have a free check coming their way
  • Claims in the Twitter class action suit must be submitted by March 11, 2016
  • You do not need to pay anything to join the class action lawsuit against Twitter

If you’re a resident of California and you used Twitter before November 18, 2009, there’s a good chance you could have some free money coming your way thanks to a class action lawsuit!

This lawsuit alleges that Twitter violated user privacy rights by giving out their full name, tweets, and profile information to third parties without consent. This violates privacy laws in several states, but especially in California. That’s why this lawsuit only involves California residents.

Twitter denies any wrongdoing in this case, but has agreed to settle the lawsuit out of court. A total settlement fund of $2,690,000 has been provided by Twitter. This amount will be paid out first to the legal council, then to the eligible lawsuit participants. It’s not yet known how much each individual will receive in this case, since that number depends on how many claims are received.

If you’re making a claim in the Twitter California class action suit, you’ve got to make sure your claim is submitted by the deadline of March 11, 2016.

Remember that if you participate in the Twitter class action lawsuit, you’re waiving your right to sue as an individual in this matter. By accepting Twitter’s settlement, you’re saying that you agree to their terms. When you file a claim in this lawsuit, there’s no need to pay anything. The legal representation will be paid out of the settlement funds.
