Camp Snap has introduced a miniature version of its retro digital camcorder that is less than half the size of the original model. Named the CS-8 Mini, the device follows the recent release of new color options for the screen-free CS-8 video camera and maintains a vintage aesthetic inspired by classic film cameras from decades past.
Design and Pricing Details
The CS-8 Mini features a smaller grip tailored for children’s hands and offers a maximum resolution of 2.7K using its 1/2.7-inch sensor, compared to the 4K capability of the larger predecessor. The new model is priced at $149.99 and is currently available via Target and Camp Snap’s online store in bright green, pink, orange, and blue color options.
Recording Features and Connectivity
Maintaining the minimalist philosophy of the brand, the camcorder includes no screen, no companion app, and no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity. A trigger-style button initiates recording, saving a fresh clip with every press to an included 4GB microSD card. Users can transfer footage to other devices using a USB-C cable or a card reader.
Despite its compact build for younger users, the device incorporates multiple recording features from the larger model, including four selectable aspect ratios: 16:9 widescreen, 9:16 vertical, 1:1 square, and a 4:3 retro home movie format. The camera also supports up to 8x digital zoom and five film-style filters, featuring a standard mode, two vintage looks, a heavy grain and flicker analog option, and a black-and-white setting.
