Lyft Replaces Pink With New $10 Plan Featuring DashPass

Lyft is replacing its Lyft Pink subscription service with a fresh offering that integrates DoorDash’s DashPass membership. The new tier, named Lyft Go, costs $10 per month while offering an annual payment option priced at $96, which is $3 cheaper than the previous Lyft Pink yearly plan. Members who already subscribe to DashPass can link their DoorDash accounts to receive Lyft Go at no additional expense.

Lyft Go Features and Perks

Subscribers to Lyft Go receive DashPass benefits such as order discounts and reduced fees, alongside eight percent back in credits from every ride up to $40 monthly. Users can apply these earned credits toward subsequent rides or food deliveries. The package features three relaxed cancellations every month, meaning customers who cancel and rebook a trip within 15 minutes receive their cancellation fee refunded as credits. Furthermore, Lyft waives return fees for lost items and matches charitable donations made through the Round Up & Donate feature.

For users seeking a lower-priced alternative, a Lyft Go Core tier is available at $5 per month without DashPass. This option provides five percent back as ride credits up to $20 each month, alongside the donation matching and relaxed cancellation benefits.

Expanded Partnership and Market Competition

The collaboration between Lyft and DoorDash, as reported by Engadget, is growing beyond subscriptions as DoorDash prepares to acquire Instacart for $17 billion. On select journeys, customers can browse local restaurants via the Lyft app and place an order designed to arrive at their destination simultaneously. Lyft Go launches in the United States immediately with a one-month free trial, and current Lyft Pink subscribers will transition to the new plan automatically at their current rate, while the higher-tier Lyft Pink All Access remains active for existing users but closed to new enrollments.

Competitor Uber maintains a comparable subscription model priced at $10 monthly called Uber One. This rival service provides promotional discounts, reduced fees, five percent back on rides, and ten percent back on car rentals, in addition to savings on Uber Eats following a recent partnership with Amazon to provide discounts for Prime members.
