Apple has expanded Find My tracking to older Siri Remotes via its latest iOS release, helping users locate misplaced clickers that slip between couch cushions. Although initially highlighted as a perk for the newest Apple TV, the functionality now covers second-generation Siri remotes released in 2021 and later, allowing iPhone owners to track them with a few taps.
Using Find My for Siri Remotes
Users previously had to check the Control Center to find their Siri remote, but the updated software integrates the remote alongside all other Apple devices in the ecosystem. To locate a lost clicker, users can open the Find My app, navigate to the Devices section, and select any listed Siri Remotes. Tapping the Find option launches a radar screen similar to the one used for other Apple products to guide the user.
The newest Siri Remote advances tracking further by incorporating full Precision Finding, which guides the owner directly to the item rather than just providing a rough proximity estimate. It also includes an integrated speaker that emits a chime, alongside onboard microphones on the Apple TV itself that allow users to find the remote hands-free using a quick voice command.
Pricing and Market Context
The new Apple TV 4K became available on November 13 with a $300 price tag, marking a significant increase from prior generations that typically cost between $129 and $199. By comparison, affordable competitors from brands such as Roku and Amazon continue offering streaming hardware starting at $30.
