Meta has expanded its artificial intelligence offerings by releasing a new fashion application called Style Sketch in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand for both Android and iOS devices.
Features and Functionality of Style Sketch
Social media consultant Matt Navarra first revealed the existence of the application on X. Users can link Style Sketch to their Facebook and Instagram accounts to automatically construct a virtual closet using previously shared photographs. Alternatively, individuals who prefer not to connect their social media profiles can upload existing images from their camera rolls or take new pictures of their garments.
Once the wardrobe is established, users receive outfit combination recommendations derived from their personal clothing items. The platform allows individuals to try on different combinations using a virtual model customized to match their specific body type and skin tone. To generate suggestions, users can select a singular clothing piece to build an outfit around, input current weather conditions, or request complete outfit itineraries for upcoming trips.
Meta Strategy and Industry Competitors
As reported by TechCrunch, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated earlier this year that the enterprise is launching a higher volume of applications because artificial intelligence has significantly simplified their development process. These applications simultaneously drive user engagement and supply additional data to train the company’s AI models.
Meta enters a competitive market already featuring similar artificial intelligence tools from major technology companies. Google integrated a virtual clothes try-on feature into AI Search and added a Wardrobe function to Photos to catalog scanned items. Additionally, OpenAI introduced a ChatGPT feature enabling users to upload personal photographs and clothing items to visualize how garments look on them.
The release follows Meta’s introduction of Waddle World, a virtual pet journaling game launched in the Philippines a few weeks prior.
