Amazon Prime Replaces Grubhub With Uber Eats for Food Delivery

Amazon Prime members in the US can now access a new membership perk offering free delivery on Uber Eats orders placed directly through the Amazon website or application. The rollout also includes $20 off the first two eligible Uber Eats orders of $25 or more during a 14-day window, alongside Amazon-exclusive deals, while Prime Visa credit card holders will receive 5% back on all Uber Eats purchases until December 5.

The End of the Grubhub Partnership

This new collaboration replaces the previous perk that provided a complimentary GrubHub Plus membership, which offered waived delivery fees, reduced service fees, and 5% back on pickup orders since 2022. According to an Amazon spokesperson who spoke with CNET, the Amazon and GrubHub partnership concluded on Thursday as part of ongoing evaluations to ensure third-party offers provide the best possible value and restaurant delivery experience for members.

A GrubHub spokesperson told CNET that members who previously activated their GrubHub Plus subscription through Prime will retain that benefit until December 31, 2027. In a joint statement provided to CNET by GrubHub, the companies stated that they mutually decided to end the Prime-exclusive GrubHub Plus offer, halting Amazon-based GrubHub ordering while expressing pride in the value delivered to members throughout their partnership.

Availability and Additional Grocery Perks

The newly launched Uber Eats benefit is accessible to all tiers of Prime membership, encompassing Prime Access and Prime for Young Adults subscribers. Beyond restaurant delivery, Prime subscriptions continue to include free same-day delivery on perishable grocery orders exceeding $25 when purchased through Amazon Grocery.
