Anker has released the Eufy Window Camera E10 in the United States, providing a tool-free outdoor monitoring option for renters or homeowners who prefer not to drill holes. Initially announced during the IFA trade show in the summer, the device is priced at $80 and functions as an indoor camera designed to attach directly to a window pane while pointing outward.
Installation and Video Features
The camera uses a residue-free adhesive for mounting and features a manually adjustable 25-degree downward tilt mechanism to secure the optimal monitoring angle. It delivers a 2.5k resolution, supports up to 8x digital zoom, and includes MaxColor Night Vision for recording in dark conditions. Video footage saves to a separately purchased SD card with a capacity of up to 256GB.
To counter the issue of glass reflecting light, the device is built with a lens that sits flush against the window to block background light interference. The manufacturer notes that single or double-pane clear glass windows provide the best results. Thicker windows may produce glare from indoor lamps, while frosted or patterned glass is unsuitable. The camera is also less effective for apartments on very high floors due to potential blind spots.
Audio and Smart Capabilities
The device includes a built-in microphone for capturing ambient noise and loud outdoor sounds, though audio reliability varies based on glass thickness. It supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi connections and offers continuous 24/7 recording. Additionally, it features built-in artificial intelligence for human, pet, and vehicle recognition without requiring a subscription when using local storage.
Power is supplied via a USB-C cable, which may require users to position the device near an accessible outlet since a battery-powered option is not available.
