Chinese phone manufacturer realme has released the realme 16 Pro Harry Potter Edition, a collectible smartphone that combines wizard-themed design elements with midrange computing power. This release marks the company’s second collaboration with Warner Bros following a previous limited-edition Game of Thrones release.
Design and Packaging
The device comes in “Magic Brown” with a classic argyle design and a leathery finish. A golden Hogwarts crest sits in the center, utilizing color-changing technology that transforms under UV light to display each house crest in its respective colors. The 8.47mm wide phone includes golden accents around the cameras and frame, alongside a laser-engraved “Welcome To Hogwarts” banner.
Buyers receive packaging designed as a small leather suitcase featuring a golden Hogwarts crest. Inside the box are an acceptance letter, book list, train ticket, character postcards, four house crest bookmarks, and a crest pin that unlocks wizard-themed realme Buds T500 Pro earbuds. The box also contains a themed protective case, charger, USB data cable, SIM ejector tool, and a guide.
The user interface is customized to match the Warner Bros films, offering a Hogwarts castle wallpaper, a boot animation mimicking the film title card, and a custom fingerprint effect. Furthermore, the manufacturer redesigned 30 native applications with custom logos and fonts.
Hardware and Specifications
The smartphone includes 12GB of RAM and 254GB of ROM. It features a 7000mAh battery that supports 22 hours of streaming and uses an 80W USB-C cable with Bypass Charging to reduce overheating.
The camera system features a FullFocal Portrait Lens Kit with a 200MP full-pixel LumaColor Camera, a 112-degree wide camera, a 50MP selfie camera, a Samsung HP5 1/1.56-inch sensor, and Super Optical Image Stabilization. The camera setup supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second.
The device is built with a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED display offering a peak brightness of 6500 nits, a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio, HDR10+ support, and a pixel ratio of 1272×2772.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset and an ARM Mali-G615 GPU, the device handles daily tasks and gaming at 120 frames per second.
After the initial batch sold out within minutes, realme made a second batch available on its website, where the novelty phone retails for approximately $657 alongside the separately available realme Buds T500 Pro earbuds.
