Apple has announced new MacBook Pro models featuring OLED displays and touchscreen capabilities, with fully customized top-tier configurations reaching prices of up to $14,549. While the base models begin at $2,899 for the 14-inch version and $3,399 for the 16-inch version, selecting every available premium hardware option significantly increases the cost.
Maximum Hardware Specifications
Both top-tier configurations feature the M5 Max chip equipped with an 18-core CPU and a 40-core GPU. Additional upgrades include nano-texture glass priced at $150 and 128GB of memory, which adds an extra $2,000 to the total. The primary driver of the high price tag is the 16TB storage option, made more costly due to the ongoing memory shortage.
Maximizing the configuration of the previous 16-inch MacBook Pro reached a maximum of $10,149, as noted by MacRumors. The new $14,549 price point is driven by the newly available 16TB storage upgrade, which adds $7,000 to the price. Selecting an 8TB storage option instead—which costs $3,000—brings the fully specified price of the 16-inch model to $10,549, exceeding the previous generation’s maximum price by $400.
