Bethesda has officially confirmed that the next installment in its iconic fantasy role-playing series will be titled The Elder Scrolls VI Sentinel. The announcement was made during a brief video presentation celebrating the 40-year history of Bethesda Game Studios.
Long-Awaited Title Reveal
The official confirmation arrives more than eight years after Bethesda first announced that the sixth mainline Elder Scrolls title was in development. Studio chief Todd Howard made the disclosure during the anniversary broadcast, noting that it was the ideal moment to reveal the full name of the game. Despite the title reveal, the studio did not provide additional details regarding gameplay or release timelines, accompanying the announcement with a simple logo image released via Xbox Wire.
Setting and Story Details
The upcoming title will take place in Hammerfell, a prominent province within the Elder Scrolls universe that previously served as a setting for The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and The Elder Scrolls Online. According to the announcement, Sentinel will serve as the first game focusing on the deeper history of the Elder Scrolls, exploring the origins and secrets behind those mysterious ancient artifacts.
