Jackery introduced a new portable power station equipped with safer, longer-lasting lithium iron phosphate batteries that the manufacturer initially adopted in 2023. Dubbed the Explorer 100D, the device stands as the company’s most compact power station to date, dimensions measuring 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches alongside a weight of just 1.87 pounds. Featuring a 96Wh or 30,000mAh battery capacity, the hardware fits easily inside carry-on luggage to supply power to multiple gadgets throughout an extended flight.
Pricing, Availability, and Battery Lifespan
The device launches officially on November 15th via Walmart with a retail price of $99. Consumers eager to purchase the unit immediately can find it at Costco bundled in a two-pack priced at $179.99. While alternative portable chargers with a 30,000mAh capacity exist at smaller sizes and lower costs, the manufacturer notes that the LFP cells inside the 100D are engineered for up to eight years of regular use with a lifespan of 3,000 charge cycles, enabling it to surpass competing items utilizing traditional lithium-ion cells.
Design Features and Charging Capabilities
Despite reducing the dimensions and weight compared to previous models, Jackery incorporated a built-in handle and provides an optional shoulder strap for transport convenience. The front panel houses two 140W USB-C ports alongside an 18W USB-A port, though the unit limits total output to 158W, which reduces power distribution when operating all three connections simultaneously. For users away from standard wall outlets who happen to carry a compatible solar panel, the unit accepts up to 100W of direct solar input to restore capacity back to 80 percent in approximately an hour and a half.
