Apple iPhone Duo vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Comparison

Apple iPhone Duo vs Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold Comparison

The Apple iPhone Duo and the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold represent the pinnacle of premium foldable smartphones, though they approach their designs differently. While Apple favors a wider passport-style layout, Google maintains a more conventional squarish foldable display format. Buyers must weigh significant differences in hardware, software, and pricing before choosing between them.

Size, screens and build

The iPhone Duo features a wider passport-sized form factor, offering a 5.4-inch outer screen when closed and a 7.6-inch inner display when unfolded. In contrast, the Pixel 11 Pro Fold provides a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner display with a squarish aspect ratio. The Duo’s wider shape benefits open-screen content consumption, whereas the Pixel’s external display resembles a standard smartphone more closely. Display specifications also vary, as the Pixel 11 Pro Fold reaches a peak brightness of 3,600 nits, while the Duo maxes out at 3,000 nits but includes a nano-texture layer on its foldable screen to minimize glare and creases.

Regarding physical dimensions, the iPhone Duo weighs approximately 9 ounces (254 grams) and measures 11.3 mm thick when closed. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold weighs 8.4 ounces (239 grams) and measures 10.1 mm in thickness, though Engadget’s review notes it still feels noticeably bulkier than Samsung’s foldable devices. For construction materials, Apple uses a titanium frame with Ceramic Shield back glass, whereas Google utilizes a fiberglass composite back and custom ceramic glass for the outer screen. Both models feature IP68 water and dust resistance certifications.

Software, cameras, battery and price

Apple has tailored iOS 27 for the iPhone Duo with dedicated features like a split-screen mode and an interface that adjusts to open, closed, or half-folded tent positions. Meanwhile, Engadget notes that Android still struggles to fully utilize foldable layouts, often merely stretching app interfaces across larger screens rather than adapting controls. In photography, Engadget’s review praises the Pixel 11 Pro Fold as having the best camera system on any foldable, featuring a 48-megapixel main camera alongside 10-megapixel ultra-wide and telephoto optical zoom sensors. The iPhone Duo equips two 48-megapixel cameras for wide and ultra-wide shots but lacks optical zoom capabilities.

Battery performance estimates show Apple projecting up to 31 hours of inner screen video playback and 44 hours on the outer display for the Duo, though real-world testing is pending its release. Google’s foldable achieved approximately 27 hours of external screen video playback during reviews, surpassing its official 24-hour claim. For charging speeds, the Duo reaches 50 percent in about 20 minutes using a 60W power adapter, whereas the Pixel 11 Pro Fold peaks at 30W and requires 30 minutes for the same charge.

Pricing for the iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model and scales up to $3,199 for the 2TB variant, with pre-orders currently open ahead of its October 23 store release. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is already available for purchase starting at a lower base price of $1,899 for 256GB of storage.
