How to Add and Rearrange Apps on a Samsung Smart TV

Organizing your Samsung TV home screen is a straightforward process that allows you to customize your viewing experience.

Finding and Installing New Apps

Samsung smart TVs typically arrive pre-installed with popular streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, Prime Video, and Apple TV, though regional availability can vary. For any additional applications, users can utilize the built-in search function directly on the television.

To begin downloading, users should access the home screen and select the search bar at the top using their remote control. Typing the desired app name will bring up search results; if an application fails to appear, it may not be supported by Samsung or could be unavailable in that specific region.

Selecting the application icon initiates the installation process. Alternatively, users browsing for new options can explore category-sorted selections within the TV apps menu.

Organizing and Pinning Applications

Upon completing an installation, an option to add the application directly to the home screen will appear. Users who navigate away can still pin applications later by locating them in the home screen apps menu, pressing and holding the chosen application, and selecting the option to add it to the home.

To sort applications on the home screen into a preferred order, users select the target app with the remote and press and hold the select button to open a menu. Certain older television models may require pressing the down key instead. Choosing the move setting allows users to slide individual applications left and right. This same menu also provides options to remove an app from the home screen or delete it entirely.
