Developer Lux Optics has launched a software update for its camera application, Halide, adding dedicated support for Apple’s foldable iPhone Duo. The update allows users to take advantage of the device’s dual screens and unique form factor, as reported by Engadget.
Features Tailored for Dual-Screen Poses
Following initial questions raised in Engadget’s review regarding third-party software support for the new hardware, Lux Optics responded by adapting Halide Mark III for the device. Halide, which was reportedly previously eyed by Apple for acquisition, now offers controls designed to adjust across all three of the foldable handset’s positions.
Among the key user interface adjustments is the ability to relocate camera controls when using the device in fully open or angled modes. When placed in a partially open stance, the phone can function similarly to a classic waist-level camera viewfinder.
The software release is currently accessible to Halide Mark III users. Lux Optics indicated that additional features designed specifically for the foldable hardware remain under development.
