Rick’s Cabaret Class Action Settlement
- To be eligible for this class action lawsuit, you must have worked as an entertainer at Rick’s Cabaret in New York from September 10, 2005 to October 31, 2012
- The lawsuit is over whether entertainers were considered employees or not, and if they should have received wages, plus the full value of their dance dollars, and should not have been forced to pay mandatory fines, fees, and tip outs.
- The proposed settlement will make a sum of $15,000,000 available to be distributed among the plaintiffs and their lawyers
This lawsuit alleges that Rick’s Cabaret was in violation of both the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law by not considering their entertainment as employees and compensating them appropriately. If you worked as a dancer during the mentioned time period at this establishment, you may be eligible to receive payment for money missed.
- There is no need to make a payment to join this lawsuit. The legal representation for the plaintiffs will be paid out of the settlement funds.
- If your potential compensation is in excess of $10,000, you will be required to fill out a Long Form Notice Verification Form and return it. If your compensation is less than $10,000, you will fill out the Long Form Notice Non Verification Form, and you will not be required to do anything further.
- By enrolling in the Rick’s NY Wage Settlement lawsuit, you are waiving your right to sue an an individual regarding this matter.
- The lawyers for this case are asking for $5,500,000 as payment for their services. If the lawsuit is approved, that sum will come out of the $15,000,000 that’s being made available.
