Support American’s Veterans

  • Project Green Light encourages you to change one of your home’s exterior light bulbs to support U.S. veterans
  • Use the hashtag #greenlightavet to show your support
  • Keep your green light burning as often as you can, to let each and every veteran know you care

United States veterans are some of the hardest working, most deserving people in our society. But all too often, they don’t receive anywhere near the credit they deserve. It’s easy to spot veterans and to thank them when they’re in uniform, but what about when they’re back to their civilian life, and they’re just another person on the street?

Fortunately, there’s something you can do to show your support. It takes less than 5 minutes, and is a permanent reminder that you support our troops. What do you need to do? Support Project Green Light. To show your support for the “Green Light A Veteran” project, all you need to do is simply change one light outside your home to a green bulb instead of a traditional white. It’s a small gesture, but it serves as a reminder to our veterans that people are thinking about them, and that they have our support.

Once you have your green light installed, keep it lit as often as you can. Share it on social media with the hashtag #greenlightavet. When you share your Green Light A Vet photo, it only helps to project to be seen by more people. Green is the color of hope, and sadly, too many of our veterans find hope hard to come by.

It’s impossible to tell them all the time, but when you light a green light, every veteran that passes by understands what it means. It’s a simple display, but it doesn’t go unnoticed. Veterans are all around us. Make sure that those around you don’t go unnoticed!
