People who were employed by Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister in the state of California between February of 2012 and September of 2014 may be eligible to receive free compensation thanks to a new class action lawsuit

The class action lawsuit against Abercrombie alleges that the company did not provide the appropriate number of rest breaks mandated by law, and that Abercrombie did not pay wages for those missed breaks.

The Abercrombie corporation denies these allegations, and insists that no laws were broken (and that employees were treated fairly), but has agreed to settle this lawsuit out of court. Abercrombie has agree to pay $2,000,000 into a settlement fund, which will be distributed among the class action lawsuit members and the legal representation in the case.

A claim in the Abercrombie class action suit, or a notice that a class member wishes to opt out of the suit against Abercrombie (if they want to sue on their own) must be submitted on or before December 28, 2015. A final hearing in the class action lawsuit against Hollister and Abercormbie will be held on or about March 15, 2016. If approved, settlement funds will be distributed within two weeks of the final settlement approval.

Abercrombie and Fitch was founded in 1892 in Manhattan, and has over 100 years of providing quality clothing. Along with Hollister, they have come under fire several times for their use of provocatively dressed models in their advertisements. The Abercrombie and Hollister company has also been accused of over sexualizing young children, marketing thongs and padded bikini tops to girls as young as 7 years old
